enough to convince you to not start one. Market is already wayyyy to over-saturated.

A good budget is $400-500 (from scratch) maybe even more. If you have stuff like web design branding then probably abit less. You also need backup finance aswell.

You'd probably be better off starting another kind of company as the hosting market is already very saturated (especially on McM), with quite low margains. If you still want to open one, my estimate would be one to a couple thousand dollars, as you will have to buy hardware. You also need somewhere to store the hardware, and this will add to the cost. Web development could also drain a bit.

If you want to start a company, I'd advice you to buy and read a couple books before doing so. I've started reading a bit recently and do not regret it a bit. PM me if you want any recommendations.

Just like to inform everyone saying $400-$500 he wants owned hardware.. any sort of owned hardware that can come close to competing with the competition costs one grand or more alone. You also gotta take backup nodes into consideration as well as setup fees and collocation. This doesn’t even account for the website, advertising, and whmcs.
He didnt mention owned hardware, I assumed he wanted to do an LTO or similar. (If he is looking for owned hardware he will need well over $3K-$4k to even get a "performance-worthy" server.

Like everyone above said, the market is already full of hosts... would probably be a waste of money if you don’t plan on advertising and working your ass off
