How often should I backup my server?

Hey guys, sorry have no idea where this posts should go!

But I'm hoping to have a factions server with a player base of around 20-30.
How often should I backup the server?

Usually people have backups every day, but I'm way too paranoid for that. I was looking more towards every 30 mins.

I'm just scared if something goes wrong or if theres bug that's exploited and everyone all of a sudden becomes OP, in which case I can just fix the issue and just upload the backup from 30 mins ago.

The whole server every 30mins, Thats going to end up needing a lot of space and (depending on where your backing up to, Put stress on either the CPU or eat through your servers monthly bandwidth.)

I Used to do it hourly for the Main Server then moved to every 12 Hours.
If you've got the space you could do more every 2hrs on a 24hr Rotation then have every 12 Hours on a 5 Day rotation.

Every 6-12 hours should be good depending on how much space you have and your bandwidth. Just make sure you delete the backups when needed.

Of course I'll patch the bug, but in terms of the resources/items that they've got from it, how do I fix that?

Just give them something. Make like a Kit sorry or something with some cool items and money.

If you have a good amount of storage, 2 to 6 hours. If not, 12 to 24 hours.

Depending on your storage, 4-6 hours imo is good.
