I have recently released a server and its going great! Average 20 players at US peak hours, and a pretty solid community! We are not very p2w at all and so from this I have made $300 USD, I really want to carry forward the momentum of the release, but don't know how to spend my money to advertise! What do you guys reccomend? I desperately need help as I dont even know where to start, thanks all!

I meant, you could just use your $300 budget to buy ads here on MC-Market such as the top bar banner or promote your server in a pinned thread.

Had good experience using mcmarket ads to promote training courses, people are using it for servers promotions as well.

Be smart about it and test on a small sample first before spending the whole budget :)

Maybe this is a great idea but I am just concerned that it will not actually gain much traction as MC-Market isn't typically used by people looking to play a server:confused:
Thanks for the advice and I will take it into account!

Buying an ad on MC-Market to get players on your server might be one of the worst ideas. You could use it to get volunteer team members, but not players. It's not the right audience.

I don't know what the ROI is on Google, Facebook, or Twitter ads. Might be worth trying $10 worth on different keywords and demographics and see how it goes before spending more. I've heard TikTok can be good for grabbing some new players, but it doesn't seem like they stick around for very long.

Long-term strategy I'd recommend investing in some software or online courses to learn how to make promotional materials yourself. Most MC advertising methods take more than $300 to have a decent ROI (like server list websites which can cost thousands to bid on), or aren't worth the cost since the players they bring don't stick around (like hiring YouTubers).

You could use it to pay some small-medium (400-6000 subs) youtubers that has an active audience and uploads minecraft videos related to the thematic of your server.
I don't think their price would be too expensive, maybe you can make deals for as low as $15

You could get a social/advertising manager... I was the one in charge of advertising for my server and we got 50 online on the first day

(Advertising budget was like $30)

I was just thinking that this might actually be the best bang for the buck. Pay someone who is good at reaching out and finding players to do the work. They might be able to do it just by talking with people and being active on different social networks and sites.

What i did with my server was hire a bunch of youtubers i analized so we eneded up paying $10 per youtuber, they had 15-20k subs and when streamed it reached 80 ppl and then went to 40 after the stream

These are the following paid ways I can think of:
  1. Find popular server lists and get ads (To find popular server lists just google top 10 minecraft servers and click the first server list you see)
  2. Get youtubers to partner with
  3. Get a advertisement manager
  4. Pay a editor to make you a good server trailer and post it on youtube
  5. Again try making a 60 seconds intro clip and post it on youtube shorts, Instagram Reels and tiktok. Thats where you'll find minecraft players

I’m personally a huge fan of organic promotion. I would try creating an in game incentive for players to invite their friends and to login daily. Hypixel achieves this by giving their players a small daily bonus simply for logging in. Maybe you could do the same for rewarding join streaks or possibly some kind of referral system.

Btw getting a ad on mc-market is of no use as there's only buyers and sellers here basically server owners and skilled people with no interest in gaming
