Hello guys :).

After getting some money to spend, I decided to put some of it towards upgrading my PC. The current specs are below:

I was wondering what would be best to upgrade to get better frames ingame and also get better frames while recording. I don't want to spend a crazy ton of money on parts, just want to get an opinion for it.

I'm not a computer expert but I would say the graphics card to a 980(maybe 980ti? again, not an expert), though just not at this point in time as apparently the price has been at an all-time high.

GTX 1080, pretty good card, even for now, if you want duo card SLI, I’d get two Nivida GTX 1070 ASUS Turbo cards, they go nicely especially for the price if you can get them right.

Thank you :). I'm willing to do that, but I'm afraid that will bottleneck with my CPU, so I might upgrade my CPU and then go with a 980.
Stick with your gpu, invest in a i5 6400 skylake and that should do the trick
Thanks! I will look into it. :)
You might want to change that CPU, pentiums aren't really good.
Yeah, I bought this one two years ago. Works pretty nice, but terrible when recording or multitasking.[DOUBLEPOST=1516383811][/DOUBLEPOST]

I think that might be a bit overboard, since I'm only going to be using it for recording minecraft and overwatch.

What do you guys think about my HDD? xD

I suggest hopping onto the /r/buildapc forum or joining their discord. They got lots of guys willing to help you. (Although their tempers get really high if you say something stupid).

Anyways, if you got 300 to spend on each part, that's nice. I would suggest a ryzen system for your build. Something like a R5 1600 as people suggested above. I would also suggest getting a 275gb Crucial MX300 ssd or a 250gb 850 EVO ssd from samsung. Also, pair that up with a standard WD Blue 1tb hard drive or a 2tb disk from Seagate. RAM is kinda bad right now, but if you got 300 to spend on it, i would suggest any kind of 16gb ddr4 ram with 3000-3200mhz. (I suggest you overclock your system too.) Video cards are the difficult part. I would normally suggest a 1060 3gb but the prices are sky high right now. However even with the price increase, it is still one of the best valued cards right now. If you can, find a used gtx 970 for cheaper, then thats great. (It's on par with a 1060). For case, it depends what you'd like. if you're a minimalist, i would suggest going for an S340 Elite. If you want good airflow, and everything else, I would spend the extra few to get a Fractal Design Meshify C (personally my favourite case). For the power supply, its no competition. A Corsair TX550M or a Seasonic Focus Plus 550W would be my choices. However I would suggest the Focus Plus if you're willing to spend (usually) more.

Oh and i almost forgot. Motherboard. The current B350 motherboards are actually really nice, and for cheap too. I would suggest the AB350 Pro4 for its great VRM capabilities. Which if you don't know, helps with stability in voltages and overclocking. If you want a better looking motherboard, then the B350 Strix would be my second pick, if you're willing to spend that extra.

Don't forget, get a non-OEM windows. The 32/64bit version basically. It allows the key to be transferred whenever you want. So if you're replacing the system, you can still use the key in other systems opposed to it being stuck into your motherboard. You only have to spend a few extra bucks to upgrade to the full version windows from the OEM windows.

If you're willing to wait for 3 months, the next generation of Ryzen chipsets will come out. This build is just for current time.
Wow...that was amazing. I will definitely be looking at all of those parts!

For the OS, I already have Windows 10 bought and ready, I just added it to show people what OS I'm using incase there's something that doesn't work with it :p

Personally speaking my setup is very outdated but it performs well. I suggest you do what I havn't done and upgrade your motherboard. Go with a ryzen or latest gen intel. As for the graphics cards (in the 300 range) id say a 1060 should work quite well. For storage I 100% recommend a m.2 nvme alongside a solid raid. Put the os on the nvme and use the raid to put all your games and other stuff. You can always work with a small 250gb m.2, as all programs can be installed onto other storage devices. Personally id suggest a couple of ssd's for a raid. If you can afford it go mostly m.2, as that would give quite sexy r/w speeds.

I am not really able to name some ryzen/intel motherboards and processors off the top of my head but i bet you could easily find some in your price range by searching on the internet.

Id say your entire system needs a reboot. If you want to go over 300 anywhere my suggestion would be to get a vega64 or 54 gpu/gtx 1080 as the fps would be pretty darn good. Note that monitors with gsync are a lot pricier then monitors with freesync.

Edit: you may think that those gpus would be overkill, but you never know tbh.

Hopefully this helps -night
