How to set up a SRV Record Minecraft Tutorial

Today, I will be showing you how to add an SRV record to a Minecraft Server.

For this demonstration, I will be using example.com as my domain, 0.0.0.0 as my IP and 25568 for my port.

Step 1 - A Record

First, you need to create an A Record of the domain you want to connect it to, so for example if you wanted to connect it to example.com you would put it in the host field of the A Record and for the IP Address you need to put your server IP not the port (for my example I am using 0.0.0.0).

Step 2 - SRV Record

Now, we are done with the A Record, let's move on to the SRV Record. Next, you need to create an SRV record and make the service _minecraft, make the protocol _tcp, make the priority 10, the weight 5, and for the port, you need to put your actual server port, in my case 25568. You will then have to set your target to the domain or subdomain that we created for the A Record, and for me I will be using example.com.

Now, save that record and make sure they look similar to these example records below.

EXAMPLE

A Record: Host: example.com IP Address: 0.0.0.0

SRV Record: Service: _minecraft Protocol: _tcp Name: example.com Priority: 10 Weight: 5 Port: 25568 Target: example.com

QUESTIONS

If you have any questions, you are welcome to DM me or ask on this thread. Everything should be successfully working if you followed the steps above and it is similar to the example records, but some providers take longer to sync your DNS.

High performance, consistent uptime and fast support. Minecraft hosting that just works.

Miss spell "casd" shouldn't it be "I'm my case"

Great tutorial made by a super chill dude he is fast to respond if something doesn't work! This is helpful for people who are learning to make minecraft servers with websites and domains Because not all host offer dedicated IP and if they do most host are expensive for a dedicated IP
