How to fix this error? anyone knows?

So recently i tried downloading minecraft the newest launcher and its not letting me it says:

Couldn't download icon_16x16.png

does anyone know how to fix it? i tried using the old launcher but stillit says:
couldn't download resource http://resources.download.minecraft.net/10/10a54fc66c8f479bb65c8d39c3b62265ac82e742 for job 'Resources'
java.net.SocketTimeoutException: Read timed out

If anyone is able to find me a solution I'll be giving ya a reward of $

Get the link to the thingy and manually download it and then place it in the folder its supposed to be in
