How to get players?

I have a good server, I have a good staff team, I have a good banner. It's not the problem as much as getting people to stay as I can do that pretty well it's more so getting people to join. 99% of the time I will advertise on PMC and unless I have 10 people online already no one joins. Also I guess I could use some help keeping players. If you want to check out my server / website to give me some tips that would be awesome. I am open to criticism.

Oh and a big reason I lost players is because we switched hosting and had a downtime then had to switch to a subdomain. I had another server up with the original one saying use the new one but that made me lose 95% of my players and because the player count being so low everyone else left.

Also some other stuff, we are setting up voting now so that should help us get players. I also have the money to keep my server going without donations. I just don't have money to add too many new servers. Once I get players I also plan to add skyblock or creative which one should I add?

Well, the chat is spammy with the global chat feature, the server has some pros and some cons. A pro being the builds are amazing and the server is well put together. A con would be the chat problem and the Staff team, I actually worked here as a Moderator for around 4 weeks and enjoyed it, but was demoted for a weird reason being "talking in the staff chat" still don't understand that haha. But however, great server to chill on, highly recommend it for players who enjoy Prison and Factions. Goodluck

Actually you were demoted because and I quote. I said no one talk in the staff chat because we are moving to a new program and I wanted everyone to see the link and I said if anyone chatted here it would be a strike and then you talked and continued to argue with me so I demoted. Then you threatened me after the demotion. Anyways other then that thanks for the information and if you want to be unbanned just make a ban appeal on the website.

Were you hacked maybe? In chat I saw "You should learn not to fuck with me or I'll fuck you up" or something among those lines.

And before shutting down my server since my co-owner quit I used to advertise a lot by going to youtube->Searce "minecraft"->Chose videos from the past hour-> and comment "Hey join my server" or say "Hey join this server if you are interested in becoming a mod/etc."

I got about 40 uniques after a hour of doing this.

You wont get hate you are just commenting, you can even do it to popular youtubers videos and get loads of people joining.

Just do not do it on twitch streams the streamers literally get salty and kick you off the stream.

Go ahead, any type of advertisement is bound to get at least a few people.

It looks like noone here knows how to get alot of players for just a few bucks. So I'll write a step by step tutorial.

Step 1. Go to AltDispenser.net and purchase the $5 plan.
Step 2. Download Wurst.
Step 3. Get some proxies and add them to Wurst.
Step 4. Generate some accounts with your AltDispenser account and add them using the alt feature.
Step 5. Now go on Hypixel or Cubecraft etc and spam out your IP and tell them that they will get OP if they join.

The builds are sub par. The only server up is factions and there is nothing to do on it. It is a ok build but lacks detail within the structure.

Prison was up but had to go into maintinence mode as half our configs just got erased because our host force restarted the daemon

If you have money to spend I suggest purchasing a slot on www.minecraftservers.org, for an hour or more people rent there slots out to people for around $40-$60 per hour, there are numerous threads about this on this forum.
