Pretty sure this can be dangerous for your heart and lungs

Imagine not having free healthcare

Imagine thinking “free healthcare” exists and it’s not just everyone paying higher tax rates and getting lower quality service and higher wait times.

Professor Sloth reporting for duty! So in order to fix your ribs you must first hire a burly gentlemen with violent tendencies. The next step is to give this man a baseball bat so he can start smashing your ribs in. Now I'm not a betting man but I'd say there's a 50/50 chance this could solve your problem while at the same time creating many more.

Treatment = physical therapy or if you have severe pectus excavatum surgery.

In all honestly how do you even know that you have Pectus Excavatum? Were you even diagnosed by a medical professional? If so, why not get treatment from said professional or go to someone he or she would refer?

Who said anything about wait times etc? I still don't pay directly for healthcare and would rather pay slightly higher tax to be able to go to a doctor rather than worry about not being able to afford one.

The wait times thing is something I’ve primarily heard Canadians say and I’ve read about people dying or getting even more sick because they aren’t able to see a doctor on time because of long waiting times for appointments.

And in the US, health insurance covers medical costs either in full or the majority. Assuming you aren’t extremely poor or require lengthy and complex surgical procedures very often, it’s more cost-effective over the course of a lifetime than it is to pay substantially higher taxes. I, nor anybody I know has ever worried about not being able to afford the minor cost of healthcare after insurance covers the majority.

The only time I discuss things like these are when I see the generic misinformed post from someone who hasn’t lived in America and doesn’t have an understanding of our healthcare system, beyond the grossly inaccurate one of “people can’t afford doctors” that is often spread on the internet. And I’m not saying that the US system is perfect, because it isn’t and nor is any other one. I’m just saying that I am happy with the system I have, the reasons being a relatively low tax rate, low costs after insurance and amazing quality. And if you are happy with the way your system works, then great. But one thing that I find annoying is when people act as if the US system is some terrible thing that’ll fuck you up, when in reality it isn’t and is much much different than non-Americans on the internet make it out to be. Or worse, when they act like smug assholes, thinking their system is so much better, it makes me feel the need to put them in their place.

Except all I hear is how so many people that I know & don't know getting fucked over by the US healthcare system, I honestly just don't care and what I said was sort of a joke because he is in the US and is asking a minecraft website on his medical condition.
