Hello i've seen a few servers where you can use clients ranging from example 1.7.5 to 1.8 to connect atm though my test server only allows directly 1.7.5 to connect anything lower / higher can't how do servers do this?

1.7 - 1.8 protocol hack is ok if your spigot version is 1.8+, otherwise it won't happen.

+ ViaVersion is only 1.8 - 1.11

Hey,

I used a plugin called ViaVersion which allows my players to connect to my server regardless of what version they are using.

It's a lot eaier to use this that having to create another desperate server for the players usin a different version.

Thanks!

That wouldn't work, ViaVersion is a 1.8-1.11 plugin, you will need say ProtocolSupport or something along those lines for a 1.7 server.
