How to increase following on my instagram account

I currently run a gaming instagram account which I made a week ago (@kingsofgaming.ig) and was wondering if anybody had any tips on how to grow my followers! I don't have money to spend however I can put alot of time and effort into it so please let me know any effective methods you have found in the past. Reply or dm here and leave a follow on the account if you want

A simple method would be using the maximum number of the most effective tags on your posts, and also following a mass amount of people you feel potential to follow you back. I started a new Instagram and followed 3k accounts within the niche and had 800+ people follow back. You can then be scummy and unfollow everyone to make you account look more popular, but you can't forget people will unfollow you back too.

I would like to try this however how can I be sure that people will follow back. Plus having thousands of following, i think, makes people who are simple finding your page tempted to not follow. If you say it really does work then I will try it

I read a post a while back about programs/applications to track who unfollows. So you could remain followed to people follow back until you want to mass follow later in the future. You will clearly see an decrease in followers right away if you would unfollow everyone who follows you.
