(( I don't do YouTube anymore but I had 3000+ active subscribers so I thought i'd share my ideas/suggestions ))
• Make your descriptions 300-500 characters long [this will increase the chances of people finding your videos]
• Submit your videos to STUMBLEUPON.COM (Stumble Upon is a discovery engine which will help people find your channel)
• Use related tags towards your video and also put important keywords in your title. It is EXTREMELY important to optimize your titles and make them descriptive.
• Make rich-keyword playlist. A lot of people overlook the fact of creating playlists. It is VITAL that you don't leave your channel a unorganized mess and make it easier for users to find videos they would be interested in.
• Make the file name of the (MP4, AVI, or whatever it is). Make sure you separate each word with a hyphen. When I was told about this I thought I was being joked around with, but doing this genuinely will help your viewership and channel activity.
These are just a few of my tips. You can take them how you want, doesn't really matter to me.
