I really would really like to start a hosting company. I have no idea where to start. How much money you need who you need to pay to setup servers. If anyone knows HMU.

It depends if you want to be a pricy host or a budget friendly one. However it takes a lot of time to plan it out with financial stuff. However if you do have one. Make sure to give the clients the best support ever. They love it. :)

Hate to be the a** but if you've resorted to asking how to start a host on a forum, might want to reconsider. I suggest working for a host that has open positions rather than opening a host you're unqualified to run. People hate kiddie/overnight hosts.

You need a good node to host with (~$150 from OVH) WHMCS (~$20) multicraft depedns on how many servers, with a 128GB node, atleast a 25 licence would be needed (~$15), along with a few other things, it could cost you around $200 a month. Then you need to pay for a logo, and a good website theme for WHMCS, and a custom homepage etc, domain. That could all be another $100. You also need to skills to know what you are doing, to make sure it is secure, and runs fine. If there is a problem, that is causing downtime, how long is it going to take a system admin to fix, and how long would your servers be down, for you to fix it?

Hosting is a competitive market, with people that know what they are doing, and have money behind them. If you don’t have these, your chances of success will be quite slim, and you could have waisted so much money in the process. Like Candy said, if you dont know what you are doing, then dont. Its not as simple as you might think.

There is no money in the Minecraft hosting market for new hosts, especially ones who don't know what they are doing. To open a legit company you need thousands of dollars and need licensing. Like I have stated many times on different threads, you will make more money with a lemonade stand in your front yard than you will on MC hosting.

There is no money in the Minecraft hosting

Then why are you IN it?

This is like calling a kettle "black" as they would says. If Minecraft hosting wasn't a viable "product line" then you would has discontinued them.

At least that the case with "real" businesses.

Oh my god, you honestly like to start things with me. If you are going to quote my post don't take it out of context like an asshole.

God like you continue to quote me on different threads with idiotic comments trying to start things, will you ever grow up?

That make absolutely no sense (and rude I may add). New or not the market is still a profitable avenue.

Was it easy back when MCF had their "Other Hosts" section long ago and all that "jazz"? Nope but it still far from "impossible" to rake in.

Yes my bad, I forgot you were in the market and knew everything that's going on it with. I along with the other hosts who will agree with my statement must be idiots because we don't know the market like you. I apologies for ever second guessing you as you know everything..........

Seriously though, can you stop going to forums I post on and quoting me when you have no knowledge of the industry and your attempts to prove otherwise have failed.

It is profitable, but why would anyone go with a new host? When there are established, reputable hosts out there? Unless you have lots of money for advertising and the skills to make a good host, then it isn’t a good line to go down. There are so many hosts out there, and so many fail within just a couple of months.

That's literally goes with every service line.

New VPS/dedi/Web hosting providers suffer the same "faiths".

True and most who open fail within months of opening a lost all of their money. That being said the VPS/Dedicated/Web industries are larger and have more clients than Minecraft ever will because there is more need for those services and better chance to succeed. On top of that when someone does open a real business into any industry they do real research and acquire the knowledge they need to open, not come on a forum and ask for a guide on how to be successful.

Actually asking questions can be start of the researching process. But yes asking "how do I setup a GSP from step 1 to step 500?" won't help...
