Bascially, you file out the form on Mojang saying that you lost your account details, you provide the email and the TID. Wait for a response and they will contact you back within a few days telling you that they've reset the account back to your email and will give you a temp password. Pretty simple

They work for most accounts, yes. However, 1 char minecraft accounts get totally ignored by mojang support, and 2 chars (Depending if they were made by the exploit in 2014, or if they are completely aids) get ignored too.

my 2 letter was made in the 2014 exploit i think, is that why they said that my gift card code is not a valid tid

Yeah, I wouldn't try and pull it back unless you have got to. If you do, there is a high chance they will revoke premium and just lock the account completely. It happened to a few that I had TID to a while ago.

They still work, you just have to be careful though. If TID recovery happens too many times. Mojang gets suspicious about it. And could lead to locking your account.

Had a dispute over a stolen account of mine a few months ago and they ended up locking the account and sending me a gift code.
