Hey, my names Buildingbases and today I'm going to be to you a guide about telling the difference between OG names and Semi-OG names!
So, recently I've seen lots of people confusing OG's and Semi-OG names, so I thought I would make a quick guide on how to tell which is which. I am by no means a expert at any of these things so if I miss anything or I get any info wrong just tell me and I can remove/add it!
OG Names:
OG's are the names without s, ing, and ed at the end of it. A OG name would be names like "Tree, Hello, What, Etc." but they don't have to be this. A lot of people who have no experience in this whatsoever seem to think that only those names are worth anything and they often lowball them. A OG name doesn't have to be just those names. It can also be names like "Squat, Colony, Fact, Etc." although those names may not be worth as much as the first ones I stated, they are still worth good money! They may not be worth $100+, but they are still worth something. In some circumstances names that aren't really words, but are popular abbreviations go for lots of money. Names like "lol, pce, fgt, idk, idc, etc." could all go for a lot of money, so keep that in mind! Also, since 3 letter OG's are less common than 4 letter OG's, they generally go for more, unless the 4 letter is really really good. A 2 letter is a name with only 2 letters/numbers in it. These go for a lot of money ($100's) as there are only a few of them, and even less that are migrated and active.
Semi-OG Names:
So a big problem with these are people think they are worth way more than they are. I see people trying to put names like "Cravings" up for $20. A Semi-OG's are usually the plural version of the word like "veins". They can also have ing and ed at the end of them. Under some circumstances semis go for a decent amount. For example the name Exposed is, although a semi, a really nice one. People generally overprice there semis by a lot since they think they're worth more. One particular example of this was when I saw some kid on mineplex trying to sell his account "Piggiez" for $200. Another problem that I see a lot is people thinking non-og names at all are worth more than $2 dollars (unless they have TID then they are generally worth around $8+ no matter the name). Names like "TakeThePill" and "OfficialMC" are not worth more than $2.
Minecon Cape Accounts/Codes:
Minecon cape accounts have always been worth a fair amount, I'm just going to cover the prices of most of them here
2011 Account: Usually around $200
2012 Account: Around $150
2013 Account: Usually Around $120
2015 Account: $100-110
2011 Codes: There were never 2011 codes, anyone who says they have them is a scammer
2012 Codes: Barely any left, hard to make a accurate appraisal but anyone who has the money to buy them probably knows what they are worth
2013 Codes: $600
2015 Codes: $350
Advice When Buying OG/Semi-OG Accounts:
If you're new to buying/selling don't do it without getting a appraisal, I'm okay with appraisals but not amazing or anything but I always make sure to get the names I'm buying/selling appraised before I do so. If not you could end up paying way too much for a account or you could end of selling it for way too little.
I hope this helped you guys! Again, I'm not a expert but I thought I would make this. If you want me to Add/Remove anything post it or PM Me! Have a great day!
