how would you earn through crypto currencies?

Hello, I've recently created a crypto wallet (CoinBase) since I'm willing to get into the trend as Bitcoin seems to be more widely used than PayPal at some stores, and it's overall a more secure payment system as well.

But I'm clueless. Somebody guide me through the steps on how to actually earn? I believe Mining is the most popular method, and it requires a computer (i think) which I do not have right now. How else could I earn? I'm thinking of investing a few bucks from my paypal into the currency which would increase in value after which I would withdraw it back into my PayPal, resulting in a profit.

Honestly, I’d avoid mining unless you are willing to spend quite a bit of money. You can mine with any computer, however you’ll most likely be using far more electricity than you’d be making in BTC. The days of CPU mining have gone, you can still make a tiny profit with some graphics cards. But generally, now it’s only profitable with specialist hardware, be that a PC dedicated to mining with multiple graphics cards or ASICs. ASICs are basically just devices dedicated to mining crypto, they aren’t capable of much else.
