Hi there!

On MCM I have a rather large post about offering custom Resource packs with 3D models.

Now I would love to put in anchors so people can use a link menu that I'll add at the top of the page so they can easily jump to the ID I've given to an image or title for example.
My thought was of having these tags:

[LINK url=#menu_item_1]Click me[/LINK]
[TITLE id=menu_item_1]I'm a title[/TITLE]

This way it would be super user friendly since the customers will not have to scroll down for ages if you use large images to tell information in a nice way (Like I did for example).

Would this be possible?

Thanks!

Looking at your thread, wouldn't it just be possible to put your images of the different sizes into a spoiler? That would act like an anchor and reduce the amount of scrolling necessary.

I feel like if we implemented this then anchor hijacking would be possible, so it would be necessary to prefix all of them, however, the BBCode parsing system doesn't have enough variables to do that unless there's a way to only link to an anchor in the same div that I don't know about. Better not to add to our list of possible rule violations.

Enabling HTML in threads would just make it easier to jack.
Not only that, but you can also do a lot of things with BB code if MCM adds more availability for BBs.

What you asked for, is possible by implementing custom bb codes (already a xenforo feature).

I mean, shouldn't have to be HTML directly of course. Just a function to do such things.
I didn't know this was possible already, mind showing me an example?

Is this available for XenForo 1? I recall this being added just in XenForo 2.

At the moment we aren't planning to do any more development for our site until we can migrate to XF2 since we'll have to rewrite everything then. Perhaps once we move to XF2 and have fixed all the bugs that come with that and have more time for some new development we can work on this, but for the moment this isn't something that we can justify the development for.

Denied, thank you for the suggestion.
