What I'm saying is why not just get a plugin with a configurable scoreboard and then configure it to have that?

Yes you just use the unicode character on the scoreboard setting....

Not at all, if someone charges you $15 dollars for a hub core. It's either really featured packed, or you're asking for alot of features to integrate into it (as a commission).
