So this is a genuine question not meant to come off in a rude way I’ve been seeing people coding plugins asking for over $20/h I’m wondering why don’t you guys go apply to a popular server that can give you that if you have that experience like if you have 7 years of experience why don’t you just go to apply for Hypixel Minigame Developer
I heard they pay around $100k+/year. I know it’s not good for coding but like some people on here are asking for that much in just wondering why wont they apply to these bigger servers. I see people recoding mineplex plugins why don’t they just apply for mineplex and get paid.

It really depends on the person. Hypixel isn't a company that is in urgent need of developers so the process of getting accepted it long and strenuous depending on the amount of clients. Most people here do it as a side hussle, whereas working for Hypixel would be a full-time job which some people would not be able to devote time to.

Futhermore, most developers have freedom over what library, utilities, etc that they can use with projects via commissions whereas you would have to learn a whole new set of structuring, libraries, and all that if you get a job at Hypixel.

Finally, some people just code for fun- it's a cool little hobby when you get to play with whatever you want, and have total control over how stuff is implemented!
