Okay, so I have a super shitty TP-Link router for like 40 bucks, but it surprisingly worked really well for a long, long time. Recently I started having extreme issues with it. As I'm writing this my connection dropped again and had to reset the router in order to reconnect.

I need recommendations for a new one, possibly under $100, because I don't have a lot of money to spend on it. I know I can't expect that much for the money, but it would be nice if it has longer range. Ethernet cable is not an option.

Help a brother out, please. :D

Internet also depends on where you live etc. Might be the connection in your area. Where you from ?

Where you live has nothing to do with internet connection? It's just the ISP. You could have fiber optic cable running to your house even though you live in the desert. Just a matter of cost.

Are you using wired? I had some issues with wired so I installed the wireless components into my machine and made it connect to both depending on the current connection status.

TP LINK AV600 is about £47 (this is the one I use.)

The reason they don't have fiber is because either they don't pay for fiber or there just isn't fiber ran out to there house. Geographical area has absolutely nothing to do with it. It is just the option of service providers and the type of cable ran on your street. They could have fiber, but the local service providers don't want to pay to run it there. There are fiber optic cables on the ocean floor, pretty sure they can run it just about anywhere.

I live in Bulgaria, but I haven't had any issues before, I think it's my router that died.

You can try Google Home. It's possible that the problem is not the home router itself, but the access point.
- Google Home

If you want a new home router, here is my recommendation.
- NETGEAR Nighthawk

Buying cheap routers isn't a good idea as they typically can't handle large amounts of traffic and don't have the hardware to support multiple users.

Thank you! I was looking at Netgear Nighthawk and was gonna ask for opinions on it. Seems good, though there are some 1-star reviews claiming they had the exact same issues as I do right now. But I suppose everything has some 1-star reviews so I hope I'm not one of the unlucky ones.

I would say a lot of negative reviews are people who don't know the difference between a trash router and a trash ISP.

That's because there isn't fiber ran onto your street, however there is fiber in North London. Geographical area has absolutely nothing to do with internet connection. Fiber cable can be ran absolutely anywhere on this planet.
I actually study this stuff, I know what I'm talking about.

Not true, some areas like my mom's town, are only allowed to have use one ISP (the one owned by the town hall). Even if she wanted a different provider, she can't get it.
Why can't anybody understand this.

Fiber cable can be ran absolutely anywhere on this planet there are no exceptions. If you do not have fiber optic cable it is simply because the ISP is not willing to pay for it and if you only have few providers there may not even be a fiber optic provider in your area which doesn't mean it isn't possible, it's just isn't worth the cost. So your distance from a fiber optic cable could mean you cannot have fiber, but it can be ran anywhere for a price.

Where you live matters.

Fiber can be ran to Antartica, where you live is not at all relevant. All that matters is the cost. There is no area on this planet that cannot have fiber.

When my ISP came over, he was checking if the location is fine. He said connections would be slow than listed due to where you're located. So i think location matters.
That is simply because bandwidth over the line. If you live in a more densely populated area then more houses are on the line, therefor there is less bandwidth per house. I will say it again geographical area has absolutely no effect on your connection speeds.

If you had the capital, you could run a fiber optic cable that only connects to your house this is called a dedicated leased line.

I actually study Computer Networking and Support Technology, and specifically Cisco Routing and Switching. I have actually studied fiber optic cable.
