TLDR; I don't understand how service teams add value to the buyer.

There are quite a few service teams so clearly they ARE providing value. If the market wasn't spending money, service teams wouldn't exist, so what am I missing?

I get it from the business side. Optimizing the order flow and expanding your business makes sense. From the buyers side the experience is not that great to be honest. I notice a few buyer threads specifically saying they don't want service teams.

What is the intended customer value of a service team?

The end client can truly care less if they're getting served from a service team or an individual, it's mainly that most customers look for four things: speed, reliability, choice, and convenience. Service teams provide convenience in that they have multiple support staff spamming threads at light speeds, and then the possible choice of multiple people at one's avail.

The reason clients may not like service teams is because of the premium cost (for profits to support staff, owner) and the annoying spam.

Now, from a business side, it's honestly just so that the owner/managerial staff can make money. Support staff get a cut and then service offerers get their money. However, the issue is, many of these service teams don't branch out outside MCM so they stay stagnant and just annoy MCM users.

I'm probably wrong in this considering I have not worked in a service team nor have any interest in it, but I would say it is because they would offer cheaper prices than those who would be working standalone.

To me, being in a service team gives you an opportunity to work with others and to improve your skills from other people in your skillset. So there's a tonne more opportunities to teach yourself new stuff, and whilst service teams may offer cheaper prices to buyers, the service team may hope that the buyer is interested in more than one service from them. It's kind of the same when business purchase stock (bulk buying), the more you buy the more you have a discount of your order because you're paying directly from them.

So if you found a service team that does server configuration and web design, they'll probably offer you a combined service that is cheaper than two standalone freelancers for a similar quality of work.

Wouldn't really recommend taking my comment too seriously. Don't know too much on the subject but considering nobody has replied thought I'd share my own thoughts on the process. Hope it makes sense I guess?
