I got a virus please helpp

I was triying to download something and i downloaded a virus i really regret it .. so what do i do virus slowed down my laptop way to much also there is some weird app appearing sometimes. I somehow opened google search engine was changed i couldnt change it back and it also said that mychrome was controlled by a managment. It didnt day that before. Any suggestions? Its late now and i cant take it to ITs, i would prefer solving it by myself. I turned on safe mode and did a disk cleanup. Please help.

Backup your important files (only) and do a full reset of your pc. If that doesn't work try getting a new hard drive.

disk cleanup isn't gonna do anything
really the only effective thing in this case is to install an anti-virus if you haven't already and run it.
in a worse case scenario, do these things listed above

DVD or USB (if your board supports it)
IF you can't do that I'd recommend Malwarebytes, it's pretty much the best antivirus

you can make a new windows usb from the ISO you can get on the internet and rufus if ya don't know

I got the name of the virus i have rn its safefinder virus I got malwarebytes as u suggested and i am scanning a lot i deleted chrome but mozila has it too. I am waiting for the scan to finish and if it still stays then idk what to do. [DOUBLEPOST=1572029348][/DOUBLEPOST]

You might have installed a RAT on your computer. If I were you I would do a full wipe on your hard drive and reinstall windows(If your planning on doing a full wipe make sure you get Norton Ghost program to make a safe image pm me for more details)

Probably meaning that you have a extension on chrome like a VPN or such.

run it
step two: malwarebytes, make sure root kit is enabled
step 3: wait until done
step 4: delete all suspicious things given by malwarebytes
step 5: idk just pray

Download AVAST, run scan, delete viruses in virus chest.

Yeah i got malwarebytes but someone also suggested spyhunt And it found the "RAT" i have to wait 48 hours to remove it i always turn off internet when I want to turn on laptop so rat cant do anything. Just gonna wait and see

If you can, boot it with safe mode with networking.

1.Disconnect from your internet
2. backup the files
3. run an antivirus scan
4. run an Anti-malware scan
5. restart your computer if you still have the virus
6. format your pc
