As someone who has lived in Africa, this doesn’t surprise me. I have eaten plenty of types of uncommon animals and insects. Crocodile, Mpani worms (caterpillar type things), Mashoshe (different types of ants), a variety of jumping and crawling creatures like grasshoppers crickets and a wide variety of game meat, not to mention plants such as a variety of cactus, odd fruits such as starfruit, monkey bread {yes, this is a real type of fruit} and a few others that I cannot remember the name to.
