I miss the default MCM profile pictures

I don't know if anyone feels the same way, but I miss the old default MCM profile pictures that looked like this. Currently, if you do not have a profile picture it takes the first letter of the name and sets it to that. I feel like every other forum site has letters as the default pfp. But the MCM logo and its several variations as the default pfp made it more unique to the site. It would be nice to see it return, maybe with more variations?

I think that these new ones are certainly more modern than having a default avatar like we previously had, but I agree that they lack personality and uniqueness.

We're definitely not going to switch back to the image linked since that isn't even what our logo actually looks like (the rounded corners just don't look great imo).

We have plans at the moment to hire an artist to redesign all of our medals, reactions, and smilies. Perhaps we should get the designer we hire to also do our default avatar so that we can have it all in the same style. What do you think?

Sounds like an amazing idea, since the designer can all have it in the same MCM style. Maybe pixelated/that kind of design since I really like then they are like pixel images, like our medals.

I really dislike the current pixelated look that we've got for it. I would much rather some nice high-definition vector-based designs that will scale nicely. What does everyone else think?

Maybe other people can comment on it or maybe make a poll on a thread about what they like. I was thinking maybe introducing more polls on MCM from the staff for asking for a multi choice question, like "What theme do you want for the medals and images?"

Continuing that uniqueness and personality MCM has through the default avatar would be the idea I was shooting for in this thread. If getting an artist to do a redesigned default avatar is possible, along with the other redesign of the medals and reactions in the process, I think it would be great appreciated by the community.

Maybe have it look like Twitter and Facebook's default avatar? I think that both sites have taken a pretty simplistic approach.
