I personally think this is very basic as well. Are you using a pack or what?

No it's custom do you like the new banner than the older one? The curved text is the new one

I'd suggest finding a good pack, and the text doesn't make a ton of a difference but probably the second one.

I want to do something custom not using someone elses artwork/pack

Usually depends on what you're making but font is a big one for me atleast. Just look around on youtube for a bit.
