Hi! I've recently bought a 16gb dedicated server from kimsufi and I wanted to know which distro is easy to use and has a nice gui for accessing files, etc. I just need a bit of a pointer as I can learn it myself very quickly and normally I don't ask help on a forums, but its support hasn't responded, and I wanted to get my dedicated server up and running.

Here is some questions I want to be answered:

- How do I get a distro with a GUI or if it can be installed as plugins or packages?
- Is there a straight-foward link to just download it and run it, and access the server with the gui?
- What does the proccess require?
- Anything else I should do / be aware of if needed to?

If any new questions pop up I'll add them to this list as I want to understand completely and know what I'm doing

NOTE: I do not want to purchase a setup, as I want to learn how to what I wanted to learn.

Right but how much minecraft servers are you wanting to run on it?
Oh, I might have 16 1gb servers, or 8 2gb servers, depending how much I need.

Hey! I also have a dedi from kimsufi. I can run you thru the basics if you want, and I could give you a basic iptables configuration for a layer of security.

I would recommend paying someone around $10 to install a control panel like pufferpanel, and then take care of the security like changing the ssh port, adding a more secure password, etc.[DOUBLEPOST=1470331438][/DOUBLEPOST]
I do not want to use multicraft, I was asking which distro has a gui (or plugins that offer it) that is easy to understand to setup and use.
You can use windows server, but accessing the GUI will be extremely slow.
You would have to make tweaks to the settings inside of the server so that you can use the browser so then you can download your files, and java to run the servers.

Although this isn't the ideal way to run a minecraft server you can do it. I wouldn't recommend it though. Maybe you are new to servers and think a GUI is easier to learn and setup your servers on... If you are going to spend time learning something, or setting up servers you should just do it right by paying someone to set it up on linux.
