Hello,

Apart from my part-time job at Moonsworth LLC. I have a full time job in a top secret organization.
I am in a cyber security related position, but I am obviously aware of what goes around beyond that.

Ask me (almost) anything.

I will not be answering:
- Anything that is considered classified.
- Anything that hints toward which organization.

By cyber security is this preventing malicious attacks, Or is there other things you have to do such as hiding classified information etc. Also is the organization ran by the government or ran by a unknown source that is funded by the government?

Decent. The private market absolutely dominates when it comes to $.

I’ve been to both an organization that is officially being ran by the government and an organization secretly funded by the government. Same position, was simply moved.

People here do all kind of stuff, from preventing malicious attack and protecting classified information to performing “malicious” attacks and stealing classified information from other organizations. I was a part of the latter.

I vouch the fact he works for both Moonsworths and that secret agency. Here’s my question:
When occupying such position, do you get the same sort of awards/ranking as a military or is it a static position?

How does it feel to work on something that is top secret?
It’s very cool when you realize the scale of what you do. However, it might get annoying due to the fact that you can’t share even the closest to you. Some may even feel offended that you don’t tell them. More than once I’ve heard stuff like “don’t you trust me?”, “I tell you everything”, “I won’t tell anyone”.

Would you say it was a corrupt organization? In the sense of the things they were doing were for obvious harmful reasons, and did you see anything that was heavily classified and if known you saw it you'd be in danger?

Ranking is usually time based. You can definitely get awards for outstanding achievements.[DOUBLEPOST=1567695367][/DOUBLEPOST]

Interesting questions.
Regarding corrupt - honestly not. Almost every serious action has to pass a very long list of people to approve it. Of course some could consider these actions harmful, but it’s being carefully reviewed.

I saw some heavily classified stuff. I don’t think any of them would put me specifically in direct danger. But, if these was in the wrong hands - I would be terrified.

How would one get so far into cyber security or even start off? Any suggestions?

How did you get a job in this top secret organization? Cause I mean you can't really apply for something top secret if you don't know about it? Also how do you know the information isn't in the wrong hands? I mean you have to trust the president with nucular launch codes, but he could have malicious intent. Also what is the intent of the organization as in what are they working towards, or whati s their purpose.

Just like anything else you wish to learn.
There are tons of ways to learn - YouTube, books, courses and more.

A tip?
Cyber security is a huge subject - I’d say start with sub-subjects that interests you.

As a simple example -

Cyber Security -> Hacking -> Web Hacking -> OWASP Top 10 -> SQL Injection -> SQL

The lower you go - the more accurate information you will find. Always start with the basic, you need to have a solid base to understand more complicated stuff. (i.e You need to know SQL to understand)

How did I get the job?
I applied to typical cyber security jobs. The interviews looked like a usual job interviews. After the interviews (over 12) I had to sign NDA and was invited to do a polygraph test as a part of the security clearance. I didn’t know exactly what or who until I joined.

How do I know the information isn’t in the wrong hands?
I don’t. But I trust the people I work with to do their job. Everyone was hand-picked.

I can tell that the full application process took over a year and a half!

What’s the purpose of the organization?
Unfortunately, I can’t seem to figure out a way to discuss this without hinting towards which organization that is.[DOUBLEPOST=1567698109][/DOUBLEPOST]

My parents know exactly what you know - that I work for a top secret organization. Nothing more than that.

They’re very understanding and they know I can’t tell them which so they don’t ask.
I think they would be proud if they knew what I do there.

How lucky am I to work for Moonsworth as well, so I have what to discuss over dinner
