iBUYPOWER
Horrible service, quality and times.

Please don't get mad at me for anything I say here, this is just my oppinion and I am sharing what happened with me through the steps that I've had with the company so far.

- iBUYPOWER Introduction -

Many of you may know the company that goes under the name "iBUYPOWER". They are very well-known for a lot of different reasons. One, being that they caused one of the biggest CS:GO Match Fixing scandals ever. Getting the whole current team at the time perm banned directly from valve staff to participate in any tournaments as well as banning them from playing CS:GO again. You can find a lot more information about this by searching up "iBUYPOWER CS:GO Scandal" on Google or something.

- What iBUYPOWER did to me -
Over the course of a bit more than 6 months, I've been going back and fourth with the iBUYPOWER customer support as well as technical support. Giving either wrong information or saying "Please talk to this other side of our department".

Let's start this off...

Christmas:
Around this time, I ordered my PC. Feeling completely fine in my purchase as all of my friends who've ordered from this company have had an amazing, smooth time with them. Getting a completely working PC, capable of all things they needed. I was only told about one time where since it was the Christmas rush they forgot to add the LED controller with the rest of the PC. Regardless, it's going smooth. My PC arrives at my house and I'm happy to see that it's finally here. I open the box, get the PC out and hook it up as everyone would do. I put in all the start up information, install some games and benchmark tests and.... It blue screens. It fucking blue screens. About every 15-30 minutes it will randomly blue screen. So I did what any normal person would do, contact tech support. Because of their "amazing" email support, I got responses 2 days after for an ESports and PC Manufacturing company... At the end, I've been moved to 3 different email support agents until I finally get instructed to send it back for repairs after a month and a half of email replies. Keep in mind, I have a 3-year warranty.

2weeks-1month later:
I get the PC back, and once again, did the same thing. Booted it up, installed games and benchmarks to test the system out. Same thing. Blue screens and an overall shitty time... So again, more confusing email support, more useless instructions that wouldn't help the system at all. So after about 2 months of going back and fourth with the email support, my dad has enough and decides that the only way it's done it by yelling at the support. Hey, we had to fucking send it back again. Then we finally got to the point in which the PC has been sent back the second time...

It worked?... Sorta?...
Finally, I got it back... It actually worked. I couldn't be happier. But wait, something was wrong. I had an annoying ass activate windows thing on my screen because they didn't do the manual implant of windows in my system through the motherboard as well as give me and install the hardware and programs for my whole PC's LED/RGB system. So once again, more email support. Waiting more time for them one, to send the LED hardware back and without any instructions on how to install it, as well as them saying they can't do anything after a week and a half of them going back and forth with me saying that they could fix the issue. So in total, they said, "Contact microsoft"... But, wait. After I did, all my problems were fixed. Surprisingly... Right?

Yesterday:
I got home yesterday after getting home from a father's day dinner, right? My PC was on running just with my internet browser open. Nothing else. I come back to my house, my PC was randomly turned off? I thought it was just because there was windows 10 updates, which happens a lot. So I pressed the power button to turn it back on, but it didn't work? So I tried more things. Unplugged the power cable, plugged it back in... Nothing... So finally, at the end after doing a shit ton of things ( not really ), I flipped the power on and it started sparking and flaming where the motherboard, cpu and watercooling meet... I couldn't even fucking sleep in my room because of the smell of smoke because of that fire. It was shit. I had to fucking sleep on a uncomfie couch and I wanted to die....

I got in touch with them today, learning not to use their shitty ass email support I just reached out to their phone line early in the morning thinking that I'd have to be on hold for another 3 hours again, but this time the line was bearley busy... However, they hung up on us about 3 times. After getting half-way into the issue, they just said we cannot help and left. Finally, after talking to 3 people, the forth responded and said "Send the PC back, again!" like... The fuck. The 3rd fucking time I have to send the PC back because it's broken...

All I have to say, is that unless you want shitty support, shitty basically everything, don't go with this company. I do realize that there are many different views on this company, so I'm just going to say this: this is my own opinion

I know, I'm a dumb ass. Just decided too because my friends said it was a good company and I was lazy o_o[DOUBLEPOST=1497916196][/DOUBLEPOST]
Most Prebuilt PC's don't have the best components. I had to send mine back after a week due to a fried motherboard.
Mine was custom built, like, I chose the stuff but they built it.

Most of the "Boutique Builders" buy the parts wholesale with minor manufacturing errors to cut costs.

They probably re-used some parts that they already had.
If so, that's bullshit because they advertise that they have fresh parts and shit all the time.

Well obviously, but why did it fry is what he's asking...
My PC is from iBuyPower cost me around $4000, it’s running great, no issues yet.
That's pretty expensive for a computer from them, I mean if it works fine, I guess that's good, but I'm sure you could've built it for much cheaper :/

I built my own pc about 4 months ago and it worked fine once it was fully and correctly assembled (3 hours) and about 3 weeks of it running fine the power supply died. But luckily evga just told me to keep the fried one once I provided proof it was broke. And they sent me a new one and it was there in 2 days. My pc was only unusable for 5 days. But obviously that was a lot less time than your problem. The whole point of my saying this is, even if you do build your own and run into issues it will most likely be easier to fix than a company that builds them for you.

Most people would prefer to build there pc instead of buying from large companies as it takes long time to get in contact if shit goes wrong so
Again, I was lazy and friends said to do so. I know how to build one just, lazy...

dw i can prebuild one for you but fedex employees will probably throw it or something Kappa
Put "glass inside" and "this way up", then fill it up with every thing you can find to soften stuff up. First encase it in plastic wrap, put in some blankets, some of that maizena stuff, some straw or something similar. Have a box twice the size of the PC at least.
Nothing short of a car driving over it with its wheels will kill it.

what if the fedex driver forgets to put it in the delivery van and drives over it Kappa
Then the fedex driver is in serious trouble, because his van just bent an axle. Sure, the PC is broke, but at least the idiot driver gets fired.
