If you're enjoying the James Bond series, you should try read the Harry Potter books. They're a good series and portray the characters in a completely separate light to the film series - definitely worth a go.
The other books I'm reading are either for university, or are political, so that'll definitely bore you to death...

yeah, I never really realised how different books are from movies.
James bond is more or less portrayed as a narcissistic person rather than the hero he is in the movies. He's also basically a borderline rapist in the books, which the movies don't portray for obvious reasons
I definitely will read Harry Potter, been wanting to read it for a while

Can't exactly pick one book in particular, but I definitely loved the Harry Potter book series by J.K. Rowling and the Inheritance Cycle book series by Christopher Paolini.
I'd definitely recommend both of these series if you're looking for good world-building / well-developed characters.

The inheritance books have characters and worlds basically ripped off from a little bit of everything (tolkien, etc.)
. Not saying they're completely awfully written but if you want actual world-building and well-developed characters, The Hobbit & Lord of the Rings is the place to go.

If you enjoy the general realm of spy fiction, but want a change of pace, I'd highly recommend Red Sparrow by Jason Matthews. As for my favorite book right now, I couldn't select a single one. I'm currently shifting through a pile of five newly purchased books. I'm really enjoying The Song of Achilles by Madeline Miller; although, it is catered to a specific audience so it might not be the best for everyone.
Pretty basic, but I really enjoyed The Hunger Games
Might be a little silly, but I was a really fan of the Divergent series
Never Let Me Go by Kazuo Ishiguro is the best book I've ever read, I highly recommend it.
The Percy Jackson series is like Harry Potter and is one of my favorite. I would def recommend trying it out.
