If you'd be reviving a network - how would you do it in 2026?

Hey!
I am in the process of reviving a bigger network in my home country that ran strong in 2011-2015 but obviously the landscape changed and players expect something else.
If you'd start from scratch, what would you build first? A survival server and then start adding more subservers, or just focus on a single server?
Just wondering if anyone has a good guide for someone that was out the market for 10+ years and looking to get back into it. (or maybe one exists)

I have a pretty good foot traffic on my server (roughly 5-6k per month, 14k total over 5 months), but people simply don't stick around.

PebbleHost
High performance, consistent uptime and fast support. Minecraft hosting that just works.

right, but i dont have issues with amount of people discovering my server - i mean, i would think 5-6k per month of unique players is above average and i have issues in retention (which i dont think content will help with?)

If the creators do something interesting and people see the features that server has to offer or any way of how to get started they will stay which is how most of the servers actually got players for example lookup enchantedmc they have tons of players because of constant uploads from their creators
