Hey all,

This has been a HUGE problem, and if you've ever looked in the Advertising section of MCM, you know what I'm talking about.

Tons of YouTubers just click on threads and ABSOLUTELY SPAM everybody's threads with their youtube channels.

Yep, I'm calling you out HudsonMC Linox (huge) SmashJaX .

I think there should be a rule against doing that, it really makes the whole advertising section a big fat spam section.

Just my thoughts.

Thanks,
Zyaf.

Hm, more about the automated message thing? If they ignore your thread by just copy-pasting, consider leaving negative reputation along the lines of " ignored my thread and just pasted a random ad in".

As I said in the similar suggestion about sales reps, which happened a lot in other marketplace sections, I would think the best option is to class the worst of these as simply off-topic messages. That way, if they don't tailor their message to your thread they'll get warning points for posting off-topic, but it doesn't become impossible to advertise your service in an efficient manner, as straight up banning it would do.
If I was a sales rep/youtuber in this scenario, and I wanted to advertise my service to a lot of people quickly, I would set up some sort of "form" for me to fill in. Some basic stuff, such as my portfolio and contact info, as well as a basic description of what I do, but I would also include a section that allows me to tie that specifically to the thread in question, making it relevant and actually useful to the OP.

Not like this.
View attachment 83392
(10 pages or more of that)
Would you rather have the forum be filled with

"Contacted!"
"PM me!"
"Add my discord:"
"Add my skype"

Their premade scripts at least state relevant info to the advertisement section such as their youtube channel. Anyways, advertising is spam.
