I'm currently working on a Runes plugin, which will offer users magical items (runes) that can be used to provide gameplay benefits.

Currently, these are the runes I have made:
X-Ray Rune: Given an x% chance while mining to find crate keys, spawners, or money.
Strength Rune: Gives permanent Strength I while in the inventory.
Speed Rune: Gives permanent Speed II while in the inventory.

I'm looking for additional ideas similar to the X-Ray rune. While potion effects are beneficial, they aren't really unique. If you have some ideas that you think players would enjoy, feel free to reply to this thread or DM me if it's an unique idea you don't want others to steal.

What is the current way to get runes? Don't do the basic exp or money for runes, while that is a good system for grindy factions server a better idea would be to get them by doing activities related to those runes. Now this will take a lot more time to implement and would need some sort of storage it would be worth it, if you want to get the strength rune you'd have to fight 50-100 mobs or kill 10-15 unique players, to get the speed rune you'd have to cross 5-10k blocks, to get the x-ray rune you'd have to mine 100-150 diamond ore. This kind of system of getting runes would be good in a RPG sort of server. I also have an idea for a shield rune, when your hp is low the rune would activate and give you some potion effect boosts and a short period of a shield effect (represented by particles around the player) which would just cripple any attacks towards the player by 50% for x amount of seconds

The current plan is for either XP or Economy (configurable by the user). I do like the RPG aspect, I might make that into a separate version. At the moment though, I don’t have plans to modify the obtaining system.

Slayer Rune - Has a % chance to double the drops when killing mobs.

Money Rune - Has a % chance to apply a 2x sell booster when selling ores/minerals to the /shop.

Repair Rune - Has a % chance to repair your item by a set durability, however this rune could fail and damage the tool/armour.

Fly Rune - Has the ability to Fly at a reduced speed than normal flight, more like walking pace speed. While in your inventory.
(This one could also apply wings particles to make it easily detectible as being used to avoid false bans for fly hackers.)

Insurance Rune - A super rare rune that has a one time use, when applied to an item will make it soul bound.

Magnet Rune - Has the ability to suck in materials from a further distance on the ground while in the players inventory.

Explosive Rune - Has the ability to act as a creeper egg, however make it throwable.

Buycraft Rune - Has the ability to be decrypted to give a random code worth a random value, defined limits in the config.

I hope some of these examples are helpful and best of luck building the plugin.
