My server and another server I work at have been contacted by a impersonator.

How do people get scammed by impersonators , like all you have to is tell them "Can you message me on mc-market so I know it's you?" If they dip out they are a scammer/impersonator. If the guy messages you then he is the legit guy. Honestly how do people actually fall for it :/.
