Title says it all, implement a new rule that will make it to where those who make jokes that violate any existing rules and regulations in the TOS will be punished accordingly.

A great example of this is making jokes about scamming. It's not funny. Don't do it.

That might be the case but there’s a lot more jokes that can be made that are in better tastes than ones about impersonating, scamming, or illegal activities.
 Scamming happens to be a common thing around here, so it's the theme of many jokes

yea but a joke is a joke doesn’t matter if it’s illegal activities or not. jokes are about being funny and not about being pg on a 13+ forum

humor is very subjective and to silence people just because of their views in humor is wrong, unless it’s morally wrong which then i can agree. but this is not anywhere near corrupt morals my guy

there’s quite a flaw in your argument

I love humour, it’s entertainment.

But joking about violating our TOS is fairly morally wrong, and we want to cater this site to all audiences, instead of an immature band of ‘edgy kids’.

For example -
Joking about terrorism is not funny. Does it seem funny that people have been murdered?
Joking about discrimination (racism, sexism, etc) is not funny. Many people experience hardships daily due to this. Is that quality humour to you?
Joking about violating any law and engaging in illegal activities is not funny. People lose lives, or ruin the lives of others by engaging in these activities. Is that comedy to you?

Those actions are morally wrong. You shouldn’t engage and promote such behaviour, and mutter since it’s a joke, anything goes.
That’s all within our TOS, and there are plenty of more dark things we do not accept within it.

Humour is subjective, but you should keep your moral compass pointed in an ethical way. Some jokes may be extremely disrespectful to other users, and we’d rather prevent tasteless content like that being promoted on this site.

I can agree with any of the other points you said but this is extremely subjective. So if I make a joke about freshmen in high school buying and juuling (which in places in illegal) it’s not funny? I can assure you we’ve all alluded to this in some kinda way.

Edgy humour I can understand but just disregarding things people find funny because you have a terms of service to follow is completely unjustified

You’re misunderstanding this suggestion.

Rules are already in place regarding violence (terrorism), harrassment (discrimination), and encouraging violating the rules (“go scam haha!”).

This suggestion is flawed, to say the least. Comments/jokes about violent acts, discrimination, and encouraging/promoting violating the terms/rules are already in place. Why should we ban jokes that mention things that are against the rules (as this suggestion is suggesting)?

Is “Mick scammed me!” really a call to action to promote someone to scam?

Is “I got impersonated??” a call to action to promote someone to impersonate?

Hundreds of other flaws with this.

Your second example isn’t even a “joke” it’s literally just a statement and wouldn’t even apply in this situation.[DOUBLEPOST=1555689195][/DOUBLEPOST]I think what's been lost throughout the arguments here is the original idea for the rule itself. This rule isn't a ban on merely mentioning scamming, impersonating, or other potentially explicit. These are all real actions and ideas that exist and always will regardless on how many rules are put into place. This rule would simply make it to where making jokes about breaking rules and jokes that would otherwise already be deemed inappropriate would be prohibited. This suggestion isn't suggesting that if you make a statement of potential fact such as "(User) scammed me in a deal and I'm opening a scam report" you'll receive a warning. Now if someone makes a joke saying something along the lines of "(User) is a scammer, he's scamming me Kappa" or any other meaningless and potentially damaging joke then yes, you will receive a warning. I don't understand why at the end of the day users on Mc-Market need to make jokes like this. They're not funny, they can have unintended consequences, and they can be potentially damaging the a users reputation.

In your example of “(user) scammed me” (even if a joke) is already in violation of pre-existing rules:

1.5 Do not slander or otherwise trash another member, person, or thread.

I agree that making jokes about a certain user scamming and trying to make it sound somewhat serious, that shouldn’t be allowed (It’s already prohibited in fact)

My issue is with the countless other jokes that wouldn’t serve as blatant lies or call to actions and would result in punishment. Your suggestion is very broad, which results in the flaws.

We have added rule 1.1.1, clarifying that jokes about breaking our TOS are also against our rules.

Thank you for the great suggestion Mr Sloth. I'll move this to accepted.
