Your reputation in this community is what this community thinks about you due to the experiences that they've had with you.

However, people change, people's opinions change, and sometimes they leave.
There's a reason why eBay doesn't count feedback ratings which are over 12 months old.

If someone pisses you off and you say something out of line, they leave negative reputation on you, and then leave the forum never to come back and allow you the chance to improve their opinion of you, are you screwed?

Likewise, are the reputation totals of people who happen to have been here longer supposed to grow infinitely? Setting highs that can never possibly be reached by those who are involved in the present, but weren't able to be active in the past, when the market was different, when the community was different, making competition between older and newer members time biased?

Banned members are considered to no longer be part of the community, and their reputation is subject to removal. What about users who haven't joined in over a year?

I suggest that feedback left by authors who haven't gotten online MC-Market in over 12 months not be counted in reputation totals.
I suggest that the feedback's text remain, but that the feedback not contribute to the totals. Negatively or positively.

It will serve to keep everyone's reputation scores up to date without forgoing a user's reputation history.

if you do this i'm leaving the site lol[DOUBLEPOST=1530089231][/DOUBLEPOST]this is an awful idea. remember the hf rep reset? nobody fucking liked it. no forum i've used has ever resetted rep/massively removed rep like this from users. i'm somewhat of a veteran on the site, and i've never had the intention to farm my rep. if you remove it, it'll do nothing but make rep farmers even more powerful than ever before
this is bullshit.

I think they should put like a pending on the rep or something and give us a chance to justifty the reputation with evidence/a small conversation proving we deserved it. I do think reputation for banned people is okay to remove though since uh, they're no longer worthy of handing out rep. I have had multiple rep removed from real deals without reasoning, but I can't contact those 20 people and say "hey my rep was removed you finna ++ me agin bb?"

Maybe the banned user is gone for good from the site. However, I may still had a successfull deal with him/her. I don't really see the point to remove valid reputation imo.

I feel like it is fair for users who have been around for ages to have their reputation total to grow indefinitely. Reputation is primarily used by users to see how trustworthy someone is on the site, and if I've been around for the past 5 years and done 500 deals, why should I have the same reputation total as someone who's been around for 1 year and done 100?

I'm happy with removing reputation given by banned members on the site, but I don't think it'd be appropriate to remove old reputations from counting towards the total simply because they're old.

If this is something you still believe in I'm happy to rediscuss this in our staff chat Justis.

Denied, thanks for the suggestion.
