Hello.
So some words are fine to use in chat when joking with people or just to say in general without aiming it at anyone but there are others that are not. No one knows what those forbidden words are except the staff members. It would be ideal for people to know what those forbidden words are so they can at least be informed on if what they want to say is allowed or not.

While the taboo words could be used as an insult, it isn't always used as an insult which could result in someone being punished for merely messing around or just using the word in general without aiming it at anyone. Which that is totally fine, but if someone unintentionally says a taboo word, they'll get punished for it and in my opinion, it is not fine since there is nothing on MC-Market to indicate what the taboo words are.

For instance, a while back, it was fine for people to use a word, I think the word was "bitch". However, someone used the word "cunt" and was banned by MCCharity. The person was using it in a general sentence without aiming it at anyone, I believe, but that was irrelevant to MCCharity since it was a taboo word. That part is understood, in a sense, but how is anyone to know if what they're saying is a taboo word and against the rules if we are not informed of such?

Sure, it may not be suitable for the chat to see those words, but if certain words like "bitch" is allowed to be used in chat, I don't see why "cunt" wasn't. They both can be used as an insult, right? But only one is allowed, varying the context, whereas the other one isn't regardless of the context.

This would be a somewhat different thing if the punishments didn't go by what rule you broke. So for instance, taboo words usually fall under 1.6 so if you get warned for one taboo word, you'll get verbally warned for 1.6. If you say another taboo word, you'll get kicked since it'll be your second offense.

My suggestion is to indicate somewhere what the taboo words are.
And by somewhere, I mean somewhere such as the rules or wiki.

Since the time this suggestion was made, we have adjusted our staff policies. Our taboo words policy is no longer a strict policy and is now more of a guideline for our staff. Now rather than always punishing regardless of context, staff can use their own judgement while deciding. This doesn't necessarily mean that we'll be more lenient, but asking a staff member "is saying faggot okay?" won't result in you being immediately punished now, but just a verbal warning.

Previously, our policy was to immediately kick any users who said slurs such as nigger, faggot, cunt, or any alteration of those.

Moving forward, it will be more up to staff discretion for whether or not we immediately kick or just verbally warn people who use these words publicly in our chat. Cunt was removed from that list.

You still absolutely should never use these sorts of words in the chat, and there's basically no valid reason to do so, but we have adjusted it now to be more understanding of context. I'll be publishing these changes to our staff documentation and announcing it to the team as soon as Justis agrees and is happy with all of this so we'll all be on the same page there.

Even though this isn't exactly what you suggested, us changing our policy to a guideline achieves what you wanted while also ensuring we're fairly enforcing our rules as our userbase would expect.

Accepted, thanks for the suggestion
