I have yet another idea. For those who use backupsy or similar this may appeal to you.

My plan is for file hosting. It would simply be a vps with lots of storage. Control panel is still undecided.

Potential pricing:
5GB Storage & 64-128MB RAM (unsure on ram amount yet) - Free
100GB Storage & 1GB RAM - $2/mo
500GB Storage & 4GB RAM - $10/mo
1TB Storage & 8GB RAM - $20/mo

Haha I've been thinking about my idea for a while. I do admit seeing your post did remind me of it. Except rather than having to contact for payments and files being uploaded, mine would be automatic.

If they are just for storage, they wont need that much RAM. 8GB is quite a lot, for something that will just be storing files. Prices are justifiable for smaller amounts, however for larger amounts, https://www.time4vps.eu/pricing/ storage servers would be a far better deal. Half the price of your 1TB plan, and twice the capacity, and that's not counting their annual / biannual discounts.
