INSTAGRAM: "HELP US CONFIRM YOU OWN THIS ACCOUNT"

Hello -

Recently, I've purchased an Instagram account, and while securing it, it began to display this message:

I've already contacted Instagram, and tried to reset the password and revert the email, and nothing changes.
Instagram sent me a password reset link to "fix" it and, again, nothing happened.
Clicking the link just sends me to the Instagram help page.

Also searched about this for a good hour and found nothing even hinting that somebody else has had this happen before, so I figured I'd make a post about it and somebody could possibly help me?

EDIT: I've also attempted to recreate everything I did to secure this account with another account, and the message did not appear.
