Interest in Balloons Tower Defence Minecraft?

Howdy fellas,

Today I'm making this thread to discuss an idea I had to see whether there would still be enough interest in it. The project is called Balloons Tower Defence Minecraft, or BTDMC. It is based on the popular NinjaKiwi series called Bloons with BTD5 and BTD6. It is a project that I was seeking investments for all the way back in 2015 and there was a tonne of interest in it at the time. In fact, that investment thread is still the most viewed thread in our Investments & Loans forum today which is pretty cool. Ultimately, the idea never came to fruition and due to issues with development and ultimately, I refunded every investor we had involved with the project. It's been sitting around gathering dust for all this time but now that I have some money to get it off the ground, I've been thinking of starting it up again as a passion project on the side with some of my savings.

What I'm wondering is if this is something that people would still be interested in playing? Since I was starting this project up last time, a new BTD game has been released as BTD6 and I've never played it, so I guess a followup question is whether I should base it off of BTD5 or BTD6 if I do go forward with it?

I would honestly love this. But it would really only work if you could account for latency otherwise it would look terrible.

I'm a huge fan of BTD, especially back when it first came out (BTD1 ftw). BTD5/6 is awesome - if you can find a unique way to implement this that would be awesome

Yeah definitely. The biggest hurdle to get started if I do go ahead with this is to find an excellent minigames developer to work with, so if anyone has any ideas for that please let me know!

Eh i think this already exists on cubecraft/hypixel. So only if you really have some more unique features.

Honestly I hate Hypixel's tower defence lol.

Not really worth it unless you're going to make a full-blown out Minigame server. Doubt you'll make your money back or any profit.

Hypixel already went for this, and you know the outcome. I believe some critical changes though could lead to this being a success.

I saw a video a while back from CaptainSparklez with him showing off hos own tower defense server based off his animated Fallen Kingdom series. It looks like a pretty cool idea for a server.

While I believe this idea would be a fun spin on the popular game, Hypixel has already made a game mode called Tower Wars. While this gamemode is in the prototype lobby, and it seems has been for a while, it would still pose a thread to your player base as the server is, objectively, the most popular network on Minecraft. Just food for thought.
