Hello,
Probably only people in the UK will know what this is but next year I am planning on doing A levels at sixth form as now i've left high school. The sixth form is on the same site as my high school and the majority of people that went to high school with me are coming to the sixth form to do A levels too.

The problem is, monday and tuesday are like introductory days where I have to fill out info and get to know what it's like to be an A level student for two days. Except, I only had two friends in high school, one of them is going to a college and the other might not even be going to sixth form because he might not get the required grades to be eligible. What if that friend doesn't come on monday and tuesday with me on those days because either he is planning to not come to sixth form and knows it or if he just doesn't want to come. If not then out of the 7 or 8 hours I will be there then I will only be doing about 3 lessons so the majority of my time is free time and if there is no one to spend it with then i'm going to look like a loner and it will be really awkward.

So please, please if you have any advice then that would be great because i'm really worried, what if he doesn't come ?

I contacted him on skype but no reply (I have a new skype so i need to wait for him to accept on this one).

Always gonna be new people which might be coming in a similar boat, doesn't hurt to at least try and make some new friends and broaden your horizons...

But i've been with these people for the last 5 years, we all know who each other are and what we do/don't have in common with each other so there is no point in trying to make friends. It would be strange to after 5 years anyway lol

I was in a fairly similar boat when I started sixth form - I had lots of acquaintances there, but very few actual friends - if there are any people you wouldn't feel to awkward hanging around for the first few days, you never know, they might 'take you under their wing' so to speak. If that fails, there will be people who weren't from your high school so maybe don't know a lot of people/anyone - they'll be looking for new friendships, so jump on the opportunity! Hope that helps!

But I doubt anyone from any other schools would be coming because they are open days for us as a year group, also if others did come then its likely that someone else would make friends with them quicker than i would. It's just very awkward and i don't know how to pass the time.
