Recently, I was planning on starting my own Loaning Service to be able to gain rep as well as profit, but there were certain obstacles I had come upon that did not permit me to create a thread to start my small business.

My main purpose for this thread is to allow newer members, like me, to create threads under this specific section. The current requirements are 74 days since registration, which for me at least, is a tad bit long. What I am requesting/suggesting is simply to minimize this to maybe 30-40 days, as I personally do not intend on asking for loans, rather starting a Loaning service.

Mick told me these restrictions were set for a certain reason, and that scamming was one of the main reasons, but how is it possible for me to scam when I am offering a service rather than asking for one?

I had everything set up, including some money to be able to do quite a few loans and even a thread design.

It's just as easy to scam handing out loans as it is accepting them. There's always the chance that you could chargeback, as you would have to pay Goods & Services to get your money back if the client runs away with the money.

If you're using a different payment method, then you're silly.

This thread will definitely be denied and is ultimately pointless. Wait out the restrictions or don't bother.

The only thing I see as questionable is a 74 day wait. (In reality 75 days)
Which I don't see why not set it at 30day intervals. like 30 60 90 etc.
That or a literal month scale wait time (31 day months 30 day months etc)

There's not much of a difference from lowering the requirements from 74 to 30-40 days. Also, I would be paying in G&S, but would only charge-back on people who end up scamming me. As for charging back on several users after they paid a ROI, having an extended deadline would secure the user from a charge-back, as there's a 30-day cap to charging back. I really do appreciate your feedback anyway.

You can say what you like, you're a new user and therefore not very trusted; you could be lying for all we know. This forum has been run for years and multiple suggestions like this have been made before, only to be denied. Only new users will agree with this suggestion, and reputable, experienced users will hit the disagree rating and move on. Pretty much anything you say is void as you are not trusted. I hope that will see sense and understand why these restrictions have been implemented.

I understand where you are coming from, but I cannot simply come on this forum and already have a good reputation. We all start from somewhere and build up from somewhere, hence I'm trying to start my business. As for very well trusted/reputable members, you cannot just accuse new users of scamming, when there's been plenty of "reputable" members who build a reputation just to exit scam a massive amount of money. Also, do not accuse me of scamming, when I am trying to build a good reputation myself, but can't due to such restrictions. I'm not asking for the 74 day restriction to be removed, but simply to be reduced.

You can sit it out like the rest of us. Instead of asking for the period to be shortened, spend that period getting to know the site to its corners, and to build up a reputation of trustworthiness. That way, when you can enter the section and start your service, you'll already have a reputation and people won't hesitate to take a loan from you.

In the meantime, come up with something else. There's at least 2 dozen ways to make money that are available on the site, and not all of them require skill.

The whole point of the restrictions is to put scammers off wasting their time gaining a reputation. I never accused you of being a scammer, but tens, hundreds of people like you join this site everyday only to scam. It's easy to gain a good reputation if you try; loaning is not the only way.

Who said you need a service to build up reputation? just be a general help to the community. A big part of my own reputation came not from terraforming, but for contributing to the community. I was the first member to have a post added to the wiki, before it was open for editing. That's because it was very useful to the forum in general.
As for 'no skill', there's bitcoin trading, though there's no official section for it.
There's also the buying and selling of steam items, entire accounts and other things. As long as its not minecraft accounts and they're not cracked, it should be fine.

All in all, think out of the box. If you can't do one thing, try another. See if you can find others doing things that you think you might be able/willing to try.

Like other people have already said, we have these restrictions in place in order to prevent people from joining the site, asking for a loan, and then leaving and getting banned without any repercussions.
