Investors/Partners - Pros and Cons?

I see a lot of people on here looking for investors/partners and I've thought about it multiple times in the past.
I'm sure some people have actually found a partner or investors, others may be the investor/partner. So what were the positive things about your partnership, what were the negative things about it?
And most importantly, would you recommend it?

Honestly, most negative thing is ownership. I worked with a guy who gave me around 5 grand for 25% of the ownership entirely. He said he would give me the 25 once his "payment" was paid back. Only problem was he never agreed with any changes we wanted to make so he ended up killing the entire community he wanted to "profit off"

I see, so basically he was only after the money, not after a good server or a nice community

I am an investor/partner of an upcoming network.

I've been finding many positives, one thing is we communicate a lot with each other which leads to a lot being done in return and us being on the same page. It's also beneficial for me since I've been wanting to start up my own server for a long time and could have easily done so but I don't always have the time or motivation to look for reliable, dedicated people to work on the team. Having that dealt with mostly by my partner while I focus more on the financial side has been a huge help.

I can't really think of any cons currently, I suppose the main thing is when you partner up with someone initially, you're taking a huge leap of faith hoping that the other person is trustworthy and as dedicated towards the server as you are.
