Honor do good phones, which are effectively cheap.
So do Xiaomi, Oneplus are pretty good, Huawei's P20 line-up are decent

doesnt have 500+ stores worldwide support
doesnt have the fastest cpus
doesnt have ios's optimization
doesnt have ios's security & privacy
oneplus is getting more expensive
p20 is still expensive[DOUBLEPOST=1557676022][/DOUBLEPOST]snapdragon 660 xdd[DOUBLEPOST=1557676086][/DOUBLEPOST]i also forgot to mention

galaxy fold - $1980

iPhones are good for people such as myself who just want something simple that works how you expect it to and also tells people you aren't broke

Why do people use privacy, security, and "being broke" as a stupid excuse for iPhones being "better"? It's just silly...

Security: Androids are very secure as long as you're not a dumbass downloading stupid shit. You can even disable apps to use certain features on the phone like location or contacts access.

Privacy: Sure data gets stolen but Google does it in the means of their algorithm working more in your favor (search results, play store apps, etc.). Can't say the same for other apps you might download. Just don't be dumb about it. Don't store your life on your phone...

"Being broke": This one always kills me. Just cause I have the money to buy a $1000 phone doesn't mean I'm going to. Spending smarter will make you richer... My LG G6 still satisfies me to this date. Till apple gives more freedom to their IOS it remains pointless to me. I'm just a person of freedom over simplicity. Till it breaks, I'm not buying another phone. Some people just buy a new iPhone cause it's "new".

Optimization & Speed: Android is well optimized. It's the app developers who don't optimize their apps for android properly (Snapchat for example). In terms of speed, don't load bullshit on your phone and you'll be fine. My phone still feels like out of the box and I had it for over 2 years. Sure snapdragon 821 is old but my phone is fast enough to load what I need.

Games: Honestly I could care less about games on phones. PC is more my place.

FaceTime: Again, really don't care about this. Not worried about having a relationship right now as I rather focus on college than dealing with drama. Even if I did, I rather spend time in person and not over a 5-6" screen.

In short there's nothing better an iPhone has that my current phone has that I really care about:
- Freedom
- Manual mode for photography
- Super Wide-Angle and Standard camera lens
- LDAC port
- USB-C
- APTX codec
- Quick Charge

There's my opinion regarding iPhones. Whether your mind changes or not is not my concern. People have their opinions which makes us unique.

I’m sorry but when the time comes if you have a relationship you won’t be standing behind those same words

  • Customization. You can make your android look and behave like you want much easier than iPhones. Having an actual home-screen, and not just some pages with all your apps, is a great benefit. Also being able to replace keyboards, night filters, etc. is a great benefit.
  • You can always find a phone for you. Don't like paying $1000 for a phone? Here's an option for $400 that's really close in almost all aspects. Still too much? Here's a phone for $60.
  • Emulators are allowed on Android. You can play thousands of actually good games on mobile, for free.
  • Many Android phones still have headphone jacks.
  • The new-ish messaging app is just as good as iMessage. This argument for iOS does not work anymore.
  • You have more control over your phone. You can create custom automated tasks, get deeper into settings, etc.
  • You can access the file system on a much deeper level than iOS.
  • A proper back button. A proper one.
  • Rooting allows you to be in full control. It is far more powerful than jailbreaking.
  • You can expand the storage on most android phones.
  • Widgets.
  • Default app choices are better.
  • Multi-user support
  • Far better multi-tasking, even on phones.
  • You can install apps from other sources than the app store/Google Play. Yes, this can be dangerous, but you get warned before you do so (like on Windows).
  • Google assistant > Siri
  • Better app notifications
  • Better quick-settings.
  • More apps.
To keep it realistic, both iOS and Android are good, and I feel like they are good for different people. For certain people, iOS is better, while Android beats it for others. Yes, iOS looks good, is easy to use and so on, but Android, as an operating system, is far more powerful. If you don't want your phone to be exactly like your friend's, Android is for you (with its powerful customization options). If you want to automate tasks, you can do so on Android. You can also explore the settings deeper, and even more with rooting. Yes, iOS is good for the people who just want something that works and is easy to use (which I respect). It looks clean, it is easy to understand and software support is usually good, but Android has far more things to offer for the power-user.
