So basically the popular trend for the past 6-8 months is Fortnite. Quite a cool game, but I have a few things to say about it.
I'll start with the positive attitude and talk about STW.
It's a great PvE multiplayer game and you can buy V-Bucks to get new heroes, weapon schematics, survivors, defenders, and more. I only really spend money on the Loot Llamas. Although this doesn't really comply with what Epic Games themselves said 'we do not plan to add any pay to win combat advantages to our game', it's still a cool option and I get they need to make money so they can advertise and stay relevant.
Let's move on to Battle Royale, the free part of the game (until STW is released for free at some point this year). It's an awesome game, albeit a complete rip off from PUBG, and both games utilise Unreal Engine (by Epic Games) so the client-competitor relationship doesn't help out their legal situation. As I said though, it's a cool game.
But spending money on skins? Really? You're probably thinking 'well yeah, but it's the same with PUBG and CS:GO, right?' Not really. In Fortnite, every skin costs a good 1k V-Bucks ($9.99). Keeping in mind I'm the brother of someone who's probably spent above £500 on Fortnite in the last few months, and I doubt I'm the only one, I know that the amount of money spent on a set (glider, skin, and sometimes an emote) is pretty ridiculous. Most people don't even use these skins - and so forth - for more than a day or two, when they move on to another 'awesome' skin they just found in the Featured store page.
Don't get me wrong, it's a cool game, but it's pretty ridiculous that you could buy a set of in-game clothing for a pretty high amount of money, while if you bought it in real life that clothing would cost pretty much the same price.
Please leave some opinions below if you have any.
