My doctor just told me last month I'm diabetic. I can't remember which type it is; not the one you're born with. I cut sugary drinks out of my diet and stopped eating candy. Changed up my diet and started very closely monitoring sugar and carbs I eat.

...then a few weeks later, totally fell off the wagon heh. Back to drinking iced tea and Pepsi and eating whatever I want. God I need more willpower. I know I need to get right, but it's hard when you have a disease that doesn't make you feel any different. I mean, I feel totally normal. Doc said my A1C was like 9 so I need to get a grip on this and work it down but ugh. I'm so addicted to eating lol. I found a few TV dinners that are low carb and little sugar that aren't bad. The only silver lining is that meat is a glycemic load of zero; no sugar or carb. So I try to steer away from sugary meals and more to broiled top round steaks and such. Of course, then my cholesterol will start to rise.

You can't !@##$% win, lol.

Type 1 diabetes is the one you're born with & can't control; type 2, which is the one you have from your post, is the one you can control (and aren't born with). Just keep pushing though & incentivise yourself for your health.

Disclaimer; I'm not diabetic myself, but I have a significant amount of family members who have Type 1 & Type 2 diabetes.
