Is Fashion a Profitable Business?

I have recently pandered to myself over the sustainability of the fashion industry. And if Fashion is still a viable business and under what circumstances? Even companies with millions of dollars worth of marketing or a large social following struggle in this industry because it's hard to keep up with the trend. Some very intelligent people have managed to do it, but their plans for sustainability are questionable.

I'd like to hear your thoughts below, lets start a discussion!

My mum has started a fashion business for Indian clothing, she has a business degree yet never used it. She paid 100$ for 20 units of clothes. She's made 500$. If you know your suppliers, and who to sell to you can get clients.

It definitely is a profitable business, but it also depends on what the society wears at the time. There are a lot of companies that have a lot of different things, but the ones that copy others don't really make it because there are other bigger companies than them.

Interesting perspective, I guess a lot of the people who fail are those who are trying to be like everyone else. I think that this can apply to most things in business, as many people get their inspiration to start a company from other companies whos idea or product seems cool.

I dont agree cz in this modern era people are inclined towards changes,If a fashion business is somehow able to start a new trend it can highly improve their business. Plus I want to state that copying products from other business and selling them at a lower price could be highly beneficial.

In some sense that is true some businesses do make it out by selling the same product at a smaller price, but that doesn't always work, Due to them not always getting the recognition they think they deserver causing them to go out of business.

I like think almost everything is profitable done the right way.
