UPDATE : Considering the majority say that with 5 dollars I can make a decent server successful, then i am doing just that, now please tell me what you guys think of the gamemode survival for the server, is it going to be bad or like not popular? Obviously a nice survival with jobs and such,

Other then that I was thinking a skyblock server, even though i suck at making them.

Please give me your thoughts on a good gamemode that would help!

For $5 a week you could probably create a simple server using free plugins and a good host, but saving some money will be a better idea since you can get premium or custom plugins to make your server stand out more and make people choose your server over others.

Tbh you can make a sucess full server with 5$ if you have the abbilities to -
Create costum plugins, and know how to build good. A monthly host wont cost much, 2 domains wont cost much aswell (theres domains that you can get for 1 dollar {not .com}) and done

If you do it right you can actually run a server with only paying the host at first but I'd recommend you to make a skyblock. In the end you can pay more with donations. I owned a server with $10 and I recieved $200 in 3 months so it's possible if you do it right.

It's possible, just not a successful one, for example, there are many hosts who charge $1/GB you could start up with a 1 GB-2 GB server. You won't be getting custom/paid plugins but there are also many other alternatives. For spawns there are many websites that builders put their builds up for free as long as you give them credit (obviously not an amazing build but something is something). And if you're good at making setups then there's really nothing to worry about. Of course, you will be missing out on a lot of things, like for example and icon and all of that, but in my opinion for such a tight budget like that you wouldn't be doing to bad if you used some of my tips. For advertising, there are many websites that you can post your server for free, like I said not something really good but something is something.

Fuck the bullshit said above. Yes it is possible, I did it when I was starting out.

I started off with $5, got a simple $2/month host. $3 left. Watched some tutorials on how to make a server, robbed some configs from free premade servers. And just simply posted it on MC server lists, told friends i'd give free ranks if they'd get people on, etc. And Soon I had some cash rolling in from donations. It isn't always about money, it's also about kNoWlEdGe

Personally, You CAN host a server with only 5$/month and earn hundreds. But as stated before its if you know the knowledge on configurating plugins, marketing strategies etc...
