Is it possible to make a server succesful with 5$ (Plus please help with more things now <3)

but in a small world, is it possible to make a server successful with 5 dollars a week?

If you believe that in 2018 it is possible, please give me tips, thank you

any tips on making money underage(aka i cant get a job)

UPDATE : Considering the majority say that with 5 dollars I can make a decent server successful, then i am doing just that, now please tell me what you guys think of the gamemode survival for the server, is it going to be bad or like not popular? Obviously a nice survival with jobs and such,

Other then that I was thinking a skyblock server, even though i suck at making them.

Please give me your thoughts on a good gamemode that would help!

Fuck the bullshit said above. Yes it is possible, I did it when I was starting out.

I started off with $5, got a simple $2/month host. $3 left. Watched some tutorials on how to make a server, robbed some configs from free premade servers. And just simply posted it on MC server lists, told friends i'd give free ranks if they'd get people on, etc. And Soon I had some cash rolling in from donations. It isn't always about money, it's also about kNoWlEdGe

Personally, You CAN host a server with only 5$/month and earn hundreds. But as stated before its if you know the knowledge on configurating plugins, marketing strategies etc...

It's possible, just not a successful one, for example, there are many hosts who charge $1/GB you could start up with a 1 GB-2 GB server. You won't be getting custom/paid plugins but there are also many other alternatives. For spawns there are many websites that builders put their builds up for free as long as you give them credit (obviously not an amazing build but something is something). And if you're good at making setups then there's really nothing to worry about. Of course, you will be missing out on a lot of things, like for example and icon and all of that, but in my opinion for such a tight budget like that you wouldn't be doing to bad if you used some of my tips. For advertising, there are many websites that you can post your server for free, like I said not something really good but something is something.

If you have a sense in marketing, then yes, it is possible. Giving incentives to play is also a good idea. Maybe like a $50 payout or something like that. Doesn't have to be big at the start but always giving out incentives are the way to go. Also making a discord server so people who are interested can stay updated. You can easily make a successful server with $5-$10. P.S successful doesn't always mean having hundreds of players on your network. Its your perspective of success if you vision it, you will achieve it. All in all, yes it is possible if you work hard enough and make right move.

Depends what you mean by successful... If you want to make a server that will make thousands of dollars, then chances for you with $20/month are quite low. However, if you want to make a server with a small community and a steady stream of donations, $20/month is 100% enough. Many people over on spigot create good minigames for free and all main resources for a server you need are free (tacospigot, luckperms, even essentials...) so that will not cost you.

Just focus on the player experience and slight parts of advertising (have a youtuber rank so people apply for it, offer vote rewards) and the rest should fall into place...

I started my first network at 13 with a simple SMP server. I met some new people, recruited staff, made some connections and with that I got my first few donations and moved onto an improved SMP server with skyblock which then grew into a full blown network called DistrictNetwork with 2 faction servers, 1 skyblock, 1 practicepvp and a kitpvp. With the right dedication and meeting the right people/recruiting the right people you can get there :tup:

Ik you got a lot of answers but I guess another one doesn't hurt. To answer your question yes you can. I agree that you can do it with the above options but here is another one if u truly want it. I would suggest going to Minehut (A server that hosts servers) and starting a free server. After you do that build a basic server and use the free advert they have (They have a server list plus a server section on their discord). If you are lucky and you advert it a bit with friends and stuff as well you can get a small player base. Once you have that the money you saved (Cuz u spent very minimal.) Can be spent on hosting and good stuff. You just put out an update saying we are now independent. This gives them motivations and from there you have a small player base and with a slight sale could get donations to run it. Just an idea but like I said the other ways work as well.

It is super possible, you just need to get the right hooks ups. You will need to buy a host but only get a lot of free plugins - you can get a free domain as well, if you look around lots of graphic artists do vouches even if it isnt the best art logo. Very possible but not super successful.

Your best bet

Use server.pro to work on configs.
Once your done. Save $ til your at 20$.
(4 weeks)
Buy a 10gb host and a domain.
(18$ - 20$)
Pebblehost will get u a good 10gb host.
4 weeks is enough to get most if not all configs done and hype up for donations.

As simple as this.
Just make sure to configurate well and make the server unique and minimize as many bugs as possible

Yes. It'd be difficult, especially if you can't do things such as development, graphic design & website design, as that tends to be the things that cost the most money - if you know how to do things yourself it'd be much easier, I personally started a server out with a small budget and made $105 in 2 weeks, and I probably spent no more than $25 a month (incl. hosting), graphic design I used a free designer for a basic logo, used a free website design, didn't use custom plugins and limited the premium plugins I used.

It's obviously not recommended, and it's not easy to do, but If you want to try it then I say go for it. It might not work out, but keep trying. In regards to making money, there are multiple ways. Get into some form of staffing (Management, administration), development (plugin, bot, website) - It's all time-consuming, however if you're able to get decent at something you can make good money off of it just from websites such as mc-market.[DOUBLEPOST=1538476851][/DOUBLEPOST]

you'd also be correct, depending on the server, with a small playerbase 3GB should be enough. I currently use 3gb for skyblock/prison, and 2gb for creative.
