Hi folks,
So basically, I owned a successful server once, by successful, I mean, averaging ~$1000 in profits a month in donations, so excluding revenue. That server took money and time to get players, in total, we spent around $700 USD in getting the playerbase we had. Which was around 150-300 players online at a time. Honestly, I have zero clue to why I love Minecraft, it's the stupidest f!@#ing game you can play, especially at 18. My past few servers, I spent $0 on advertisement, and it basically turned out to be a friend server, except for my past one. MineSector was advertised on a top list, then ended up averaging a fair amount of players, okay - to the main point now..

With the way Minecraft servers are today, is it worth investing $1000 into a new server for advertisement?

High performance, consistent uptime and fast support. Minecraft hosting that just works.

if i have that money i would get one. and do u have server now?
No, not at the moment.

When spending no money on advertising, and still developing some type of community is extremely lucky, I would suggest investing money into advertising. It'll be more beneficial.
That's not really my original question. I know it's lucky to get players without advertisement.

Yes if you spent it right and be kinda greedy. Don't spend like money on YouTube's with like 5k subs. Get the big ones or a lot of the small ones who actually have a little community who follow them. Buying serverlist advertisements is okay but most people won't join from there but I still recommend it. So spend the money wise and get good youtubers and streamers.
Yeah, you're thinking from a very good business standpoint, that's not greed. Why spend money on something that isn't going to benefit you? See, $1000 isn't a lot of money for advertisement (it is, but it isn't), but the thing is, I want to invest the right way so I can get my money back. Just like any other person would.
