No, if anything buy one that has been up in the community you wish to be apart of. I've spent almost double my starting amount and still not done configuring/developing/advertising the server

yea no please, theres too many servers and also the community is very toxic and no one introduces new stuff to their gamemodes.

I've seen this question so many times over the years, in my opinion, the answer is simple - as long as your server isn't a basic trash server that just copies everything from other servers which is like 99% of the servers out there, as long as you offer something original and fun and as long as you actually know what you're doing (advertisement, update frequency etc.), you can make money.
