Is making a server still profitable?

Making servers aren't for profit anymore really.

I feel like it’s harder to create a server that stands out amongst other servers because nearly everything has been done. There haven’t been any game changing gamemodes created in a long time so all server owners are trying to do is compete with each other at this point.

Depends on your investment on the server.
Say if you Invest around 2k On it any find YouTubers and pay them 1k just for youtube videos/trailers etc.
and other 1k for just Devs/server host domains art etc.

you could actually make a lot back if you put little money/time

$2k initial investment is a waste of time and money that would take too long to return the investment than pay it off tenfold

Depends on the way you run the server. host, youtubers, etc and gamemodes there are shitty servers that make a lot of money their bills are lower than 500$/m and make over 5-10k or more

Everyone saying no are wrong. Servers will always be profitable, you just need to make sure you get a solid playerbase by using a decent advertisment budget.

Just about anything can be profitable if it's done right.
